Touch Some Grass explores the concept of eco-escapism in a near future where real grass has become extinct. In this world, the simple act of touching grass transforms into a privileged experience. Inside an incubation chamber, carefully cultivated blades of grass are kept alive through a network of tubes, artificial fluids, and ventilators. The ventilators, controlled by microcontrollers and software, mimic the gentle sway of grass in a summer breeze. During times of crisis, pleasure often shifts into escapism. As environmental collapse accelerates, the longing for a return to nature grows—a paradoxical pursuit of comfort in a reality that perpetuates destruction. "Touch some grass" (Urban Dictionary: "touch some grass: a phrase used to suggest someone is out of touch with reality") imagines a future where grass is reduced to an object of manipulation, existing solely for human gratification.
